DECIBEL's 'Black Metal Hall Of Fame' Special Issue Now Available

November 16, 2010

Decibel magazine presents a "Black Metal Hall Of Fame" special issue featuring eight tales from black metal's vast crypt. The Decibel "Hall Of Fame" provides the definitive stores behind the making of extreme music's most important albums. Each month the expanded stories (upwards of 5,000 words) include interviews with every musician who performed on the inducted record.

The "Black Metal Hall Of Fame" special issue features three previously unreleased "Hall of Fame" articles — genre touchstones from BURZUM, SATYRICON and ROTTING CHRIST — as well as a DARKTHRONE "Hall Of Fame" feature previously only available in Decibel's "Hall Of Fame" book, "Precious Metal". This special issue is not included with subscriptions and is available only at select indie record retailers and online.

Here's is the complete list of "Hall Of Fame" articles featured in Decibel's "Black Metal Hall Of Fame" special issue. (Bear in mind that all band members must be interviewed to assemble these pieces, hence the lack of BATHORY and MAYHEM interviews):

BURZUM - "Filosofem" (1996) *
DARKTHRONE - "Transilvanian Hunger" (1994)
EMPEROR - "In The Nightside Eclipse" (1995)
ENSLAVED - "Frost" (1995)
IMMORTAL - "At The Heart Of Winter" (1999)
ROTTING CHRIST - "Thy Mighty Contract" (1993) *
SATYRICON - "Nemesis Divina" (1996) *
VENOM - "Welcome To Hell" (1981)
